Who we are

Dorset EICR is a trading name of Peter Roberts, a sole trader based in Poole, Dorset. Peter Roberts is the data controller for the personal information described here. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect and why

When you ask for a quote or book a job, we collect your name, phone number, email address and the property address. We use these to price the work, do the job, send your report or certificate, and invoice you. The legal basis is the contract with you, or the steps you asked us to take before a contract.

Reports and certificates we issue contain the property address and the name of the person who ordered the work. We keep these because an electrical report is a formal document that you, a future buyer, a letting agent or a council may need later.

Who we share it with

We use trusted services to run the business: website and data hosting (Cloudflare), email (Zoho and Brevo), and payment providers when you pay online. They process your information only to provide those services. We never sell your information, and we never use your details to market someone else's services to you.

How long we keep it

Quote enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within 12 months. Reports, certificates and invoices are kept for 6 years, because they are legal and tax documents.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we no longer need to keep. Email [email protected] and we will respond within a month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
